When you're exploring Napa Valley with the 2026 Napa Vine Pass, Chase Cellars is a stop that combines history, exceptional wines, vine-side seating and genuine hospitality.

Located in the heart of the St. Helena AVA, Chase Cellars sits alongside the legendary 120+ year old Hayne Vineyard, home to some of Napa Valley's oldest and most celebrated Zinfandel vines. Family-owned and dedicated to handcrafted, small-production wines, the winery offers an intimate experience where guests can slow down, connect with the wines, and learn the stories behind each vintage.

With limited production and a personal approach to hospitality, every tasting feels relaxed and authentic. Rather than large crowds, you'll find thoughtful conversations, beautifully crafted wines, and a setting that reflects the character of Napa Valley's rich winemaking heritage.

In addition to its flagship Zinfandel, the winery produces estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, and a collection of Bordeaux-inspired blends, all produced in limited quantities by acclaimed winemaker Russell Bevan.

Whether you're a longtime Zinfandel enthusiast or simply looking to discover one of Napa's boutique producers, Chase Cellars delivers a memorable experience rooted in passion, history, and quality.

Wine Review: 2021 Born Gold Strike Red Blend — Chase Cellars

Wine tasting lineup at Gandona Winery in Napa Valley

The 2021 Born Gold Strike Red Blend is a bold yet remarkably polished expression of Napa Valley fruit. Produced in extremely limited quantities (just 385 cases) this premium blend showcases the winery's signature style and attention to detail.

Composed primarily of Zinfandel with Petite Sirah, Merlot, and a touch of Syrah, the wine immediately impresses with its deep ruby color and vibrant purple rim, a reflection of the Petite Sirah in the blend. Moderate staining and slow-forming legs hint at the wine's above average 15.3% alcohol.

On the nose, aromas of ripe dark fruit, cracked black pepper, toasted oak, and baking spice come from the glass with impressive intensity. The palate is rich and full-bodied, offering a fleshy texture balanced by fresh acidity that keeps the wine lively despite its power.

On the palate, ripe red berries, blueberry, dark chocolate, tobacco, and oak create a wine that is both luxurious and well structured. Tannins, acidity, alcohol, and fruit are all well balanced, leading to a long finish that lingers with elegance rather than weight.

Retailing for $115 a bottle, the 2021 Born Gold Strike is a cellar-worthy wine with an estimated aging potential of 10 to 20 years. For collectors and lovers of richly textured Napa blends, it's an outstanding bottle that highlights the craftsmanship and personality of Chase Cellars.
